For more than ten years, McKing has provided program support to the CDC’s International Micronutrient Malnutrition Prevention and Control program and the Food Fortification Initiative to address the problem of micronutrient malnutrition. McKing provides support internationally to promote widespread fortification of flours and other food staples, as well as the manufacturing and distribution of nutritional supplements to help eliminate vitamin and mineral deficiencies. Some of our key on-the-ground support activities include:

• providing regional training to build in-country capacity;
• assessing the burden of vitamin and mineral deficiencies through national nutritional surveys;
• developing and implementing monitoring systems to track vitamin and mineral deficiency interventions; and,
• providing foreign governments with the data needed to change their government policies that effect food nutrition.
